General Registration Information

 If you wish to practice as a Physical Therapist in the Province of Saskatchewan, you must be licensed by the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists (SCPT).  This information is available in the Physical Therapists Act, 1998, Sections 17 through 20, as well as in Regulatory Bylaws Sections 3 through 16.  Please see below for the types of licenses that can be held with the SCPT.

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR A RESTRICTED LICENSE

Restricted Licenses apply to those individuals who do not yet meet qualifications for full licensure and must practice under supervision.  Detailed information is available in the SCPT's Restricted License Guidelines.

  1. 2017 registration form
  2. The SCPT Supervision Agreement form CLICK HERE
  3. Proof of $5,000,000 professional liability insurance CLICK HERE
  4. Copy of Graduating Degree or Transcript of Marks
  5. Copy of passing results for the written Physiotherapy Competency Exam (PCE)
  6. The required fees for 2017: 
     - $470.00 Initial registration and Membership fees 
     - 
    $75.00 non-refundable initial registration fee 
     - 
    $75.00 license monitoring fee
  7. Total = $620.00 CD ($385.00 after October 1, 2017)

 8. Once this information is received in the SCPT office, you will be issued a registration number and your online profile password and login information. You must then complete your online profile information before a letter of licensure will be issued.

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR A FULL PRACTICING OR ACADEMIC LICENSE (or transferring from another jurisdiction)

  1. 2017 Registration Form
  2. Proof of $5,000,000 professional liability insurance CLICK HERE
  3. Letter of Good Standing from their current or most recent licensing body
  4. The required fees for 2017: 
     - $470.00 Initial registration and Membership fees (after October 1 2017 $235.00) 
     - $75.00 non-refundable initial registration fee 
  5. Total = $545.00 CD ($310.00 after October 1, 2017) 

6. Once this information is received in the SCPT office, you will be issued a registration number and your online profile password and login information. Which will be used to access your member service account to complete your profile. You must then complete your online profile information before a license certificate will be issued.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR CHANGE OF STATUS FROM NON PRACTICING TO PRACTICING

  1.  Written request for change of status
  2. Proof of $5,000,000 professional liability insurance CLICK HERE
  3. If you have practiced outside of Saskatchewn during your non practicing period you will require a Letter of Good Standing from that jurisdiction.
  4. The required fees for 2017: 
     - $345.00 Initial registration and Membership fees (after October 1 2017 $110.00) 
  5. Once this information is received in the SCPT office you will be reminded of your online profile password and login information.  You must update your online profile information before your status can be changed.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR CHANGE OF STATUS FROM INACTIVE TO PRACTICING 

  1. Written request for change of status
  2. Proof of $5,000,000 professional liability insurance CLICK HERE
  3. If you have practiced outside of Saskatchewn during your inactive period you will require a Letter of Good Standing from that jurisdiction.
  4. The required fees for 2017: 
     - $470.00 Initial registration and Membership fees April 1st to September 30th (after October 1 2017  $235.00) AND $75.00 application processing fee.  
  5. Once this information is received in the SCPT office you will be reminded of your online profile password and login information.  You must update your online profile information before your status can be changed.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR CHANGE OF STATUS FROM RESTRICTED TO PRACTICING

  1. Written request for change of status
  2. Proof of completion of clinical component of Competency Examination
  3. Once this information is received in the SCPT office you will be reminded of your online profile password and login information.   You must update/confirm your online profile information before a license certificate can be issued.

 

An application will be processed within 5 -10 business days once the information submitted is verified and meets all registration requirements.
