Moving To Saskatchewan Physical Therapy Labour Mobility Fact Sheet

About the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists

The Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists (SCPT) is the regulatory body established by the Government of Saskatchewan to regulate the practice of physical therapists. The SCPT gets its authority from the Saskatchewan Physical Therapy Act, 1998 and bylaws.

To practice physical therapy in Saskatchewan, an individual must be registered and licenced with the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists and hold an Annual licence. Please note that annual licences expire on March 31.

The Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists has adopted the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) that will enable licenced physical therapists in every part of the country to more easily practice their profession when they move to Saskatchewan.

Who is Eligible to Apply for an Annual Certificate under the AIT?

The Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) applies to a physical therapist currently registered/licenced with an unrestricted practice certificate/licence in another Canadian jurisdiction. A physical therapist seeking to move first determines if he/she is eligible for registration under the current registration requirements in Saskatchewan [Stream 1].

Note: If a physical therapist does not meet the requirements he/she may still be eligible for a practice certificate/licence within the existing provincial regulatory process. Contact the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists for further information.
